Waynetown -Services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown for Chester H. Harper, 73 of 606 E. Market St, Crawfordsville. Mr. Harper was pronounced dead on arrival at Culver Hospital 9 p.m Saturday after suffering a heart attack at his home. He had been ailing the last 4 years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and former employee of the Harris Packing Company 15 years. He and his wife operated a grocery at Waynetown until his retirement a year ago. He was also employed by the curing plant in Waynetown. Born Sept 22, 1897, near HIllsboro, he was a son of John and Martha Myer Harper. He was married to Ruth L. Burks April 5, 1930. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Ted and Dvid, both of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; a brother, John Harper of Crawfordsville and several nieces and nephews. Rev. Paul Jump, assisted by Rev. Guy Tremaine officated at the funeral. Burial was in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. - kbz
